Refund policy
Return & Refund Policy
Due to the specialty, limited-production, and made-to-order nature of our clothing, we do not offer returns or exchanges unless otherwise expressly stated in writing by South of West Bridal. Each piece is handcrafted specifically for your order and may enter production shortly after purchase.
Please review all product descriptions, sizing information, materials, color expectations, production timelines, and policies carefully before placing your order.
Order Cancellations
Orders may not be canceled once production has begun. Because many of our garments are made specifically for each order and production materials and labor are allocated shortly after purchase, cancellation requests are not guaranteed.
If South of West Bridal agrees to cancel an order before production has begun, any non-refundable fees, including rush fees, may be withheld from the refund.
Defects or Order Issues
If you believe there is a significant issue with the craftsmanship or materials of your garment, please contact us within 7 days of delivery at brie@southofwestbridal.com.
Please include your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photographs showing the concern.
South of West Bridal will review the claim and determine the appropriate resolution. Depending on the circumstances, this may include repair, replacement, store credit, or refund.
Minor variations inherent to handmade construction, vintage textiles, natural fibers, lace, fringe, dye lots, color, texture, or other materials are not considered defects.
We do not accept returns or provide refunds for sizing selection, fit preference, change of mind, event cancellation, alterations required after delivery, or failure to review product descriptions and sizing information before purchase.
Customers are responsible for selecting the appropriate size. Unless a garment is expressly sold as custom-fit, alterations may be necessary to achieve an individual fit.
Rush Orders & Rush Fees
Rush fees are non-refundable.
Rush service reserves expedited production time and prioritizes your order within our production schedule. Because this production capacity is allocated specifically to your order, rush fees are not eligible for refund, credit, or reimbursement once the order has been placed.
If an order itself is eligible for a refund under this policy, any rush fee paid will be excluded from the refundable amount.
Rush service applies to production time only and does not guarantee a specific delivery date unless expressly confirmed by South of West Bridal in writing.
Shipping carrier delays, customs delays, weather, missed deliveries, incorrect shipping information, or other circumstances outside of South of West Bridal’s reasonable control do not make rush fees refundable.
Purchasing rush service does not override or modify any of our return, exchange, cancellation, sizing, alteration, or final-sale policies.
Color Expectations
South of West Bridal does not guarantee an exact color match between separate garments, production runs, vintage textiles, or photographed samples.
Vintage and specialty textiles are sourced in small quantities from varying origins and may contain subtle undertones ranging from soft ivory and natural cotton to warmer cream and antique tones.
Customers seeking a bright white garment should purchase a style specifically identified as White. Vintage ivory, natural, and cream garments should not be expected to match bright white bridal fabrics.
Variations in shade, undertone, aging, weave, embroidery, lace pattern, or textile character are not considered defects and do not qualify an item for return or refund.
Vintage Textile Expectations
Many South of West Bridal garments are created using vintage or antique textiles.
Because of the age and nature of these materials, slight variations in weave, texture, color, embroidery, lace pattern, stitching, thickness, or surface appearance may occur throughout a garment or between garments.
Small irregularities, age-related characteristics, or variations inherent to vintage textiles are part of the nature of the material and are not considered defects.
No two vintage textile garments should be expected to be identical.
Fringe Expectations
Many South of West Bridal garments feature delicate fringe trim.
Fringe may naturally shed, fray slightly, tangle, shift, separate, or show minor variation with wear, handling, storage, shipping, or movement. These characteristics are inherent to the material and construction and are not considered defects.
Customers should handle fringe garments with care and avoid excessive pulling, friction, snagging, or improper storage.
Normal fringe shedding, tangling, movement, or minor variation does not qualify an item for a return, exchange, repair, or refund.
Any significant construction issue beyond normal fringe behavior must be reported within the 7-day order issue period described above.
Made-to-Order & Personalized Goods
Many South of West Bridal garments are produced specifically after an order is placed. Certain garments may also be made according to customer-selected specifications, measurements, customization requests, or other individualized choices.
Where applicable, goods made to a consumer’s specifications or clearly personalized may be exempt from statutory cancellation or withdrawal rights available in certain jurisdictions.
For customers located in the European Union, Article 16(c) of Directive 2011/83/EU provides an exception to the right of withdrawal for goods made to the consumer’s specifications or clearly personalized.
Nothing in this policy limits any mandatory consumer rights that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.
International Returns & Refused Packages
All international orders are subject to the same return, exchange, cancellation, and final-sale policies listed on our website.
Customers are responsible for all customs duties, import taxes, VAT, brokerage fees, tariffs, and other charges assessed by the destination country, customs authority, or shipping carrier.
These charges are not included in the purchase price or shipping cost unless specifically stated at checkout.
South of West Bridal is not responsible for customs delays, import charges, or fees imposed after an order has shipped.
Refused or Unclaimed Packages
If an international package is refused, abandoned, left unclaimed, returned because required import charges were not paid, or returned because the recipient failed to complete required customs or carrier procedures, the customer remains responsible for all costs associated with the shipment.
These costs may include:
-
Original shipping charges
-
Return shipping charges
-
Customs duties or taxes
-
Brokerage or handling fees
-
Carrier surcharges
-
Storage fees
-
Other charges assessed to South of West Bridal in connection with the returned shipment
Any such costs may be deducted from any refund that may otherwise be due.
Original shipping charges are non-refundable.
If the merchandise itself is not eligible for a refund under this policy, refusing the package or declining to pay import charges does not make the order eligible for a refund.
Returned International Orders
International customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless South of West Bridal confirms that the item received was incorrect or materially defective.
Any duties, taxes, customs charges, brokerage fees, VAT, tariffs, or other import costs paid by the customer are not refundable by South of West Bridal.
Customers are responsible for ensuring any authorized international return is properly declared as returned merchandise when required. South of West Bridal is not responsible for customs charges resulting from an incorrectly declared return.
Any authorized return must be received in its original condition and must comply with the requirements provided by South of West Bridal.
Customs & Import Requirements
Import regulations vary by country.
Customers are responsible for understanding the customs requirements, import restrictions, duties, taxes, tariffs, brokerage fees, and other charges applicable in their destination country before placing an order.
By placing an international order with South of West Bridal, the customer accepts responsibility for all applicable import costs.
Refusing a package because of customs charges does not constitute cancellation of the order and does not make the order eligible for a refund.
Incorrect or Incomplete Shipping Information
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address and contact information at checkout.
South of West Bridal is not responsible for delivery delays, failed deliveries, lost packages, address correction fees, return-to-sender charges, or reshipping costs resulting from incorrect or incomplete information provided by the customer.
If an order is returned to us due to an incorrect or incomplete address, the customer is responsible for any additional shipping or carrier charges required to resend the package.
Shipping Damage
If your package arrives visibly damaged, please photograph the exterior packaging before opening it and contact us promptly.
Damage caused by the shipping carrier must be reported as soon as reasonably possible so we can determine whether a carrier claim should be filed.
Do not discard the original packaging until the claim has been reviewed.
Chargebacks & Payment Disputes
Customers agree to contact South of West Bridal regarding an order issue before initiating a payment dispute or chargeback where reasonably possible.
Filing a payment dispute does not alter the terms of this Return & Refund Policy or make an otherwise non-refundable order eligible for a refund.
South of West Bridal reserves the right to provide order records, customer communications, production records, tracking information, policy acknowledgments, and other relevant documentation to payment processors or financial institutions in response to a dispute.
Consumer Rights
Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude or restrict any consumer right or remedy that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.
